I am Sammy, I’m a Sports and Bodywork therapist, BSc-qualified health coach supporting people with health conditions, pain and injuries, and the changes that can come with midlife.

I’ve recently returned to teaching to share my passion for holistic sports and clinical therapy. In partnership with Holistic Therapies Academy, teaching Level 3, 4 and 5 sports therapy diplomas alongside my own bodywork and health practitioner courses.

Holistic Sports Therapy

The lymphatic system has a huge role in your immunity, supporting digestion, the circulatory system, cognitive function, the thyroid, kidneys, the heart, bladder and liver function. When it is not working well, it can cause many symptoms and leave you feeling sluggish and under par.

It was until recently, thought only to be under working when there was visible oedema. Up to date research is showing how this system really effects our health and how important and interconnected this system is. We are exposed to an overwhelmingly amount of toxins, presenting in the air that we breath, food we eat, chemicals in our skin and cleaning products alongside stress playing havoc with our hormones, nervous system and lymphatic system. This system fights disease, inflammation and lives within every organ to protect us from infections and viruses. When it not working effectively due to lack of movements, stress and low level inflammation, we can experience:

Head aches, neck and shoulder pain
Bloating / holding onto water
weight gain and excess belly fat
Brain fog
Allergies / sinus problems
Skin issues
Puffy hands, feet and face

Signature Bodywork

Bodywork is an integration of soft tissue work, lymphatic cupping, Vagus nerve work, scar tissue and nervous system work.

Bodywork is done by individual assessment and need on the day. Depending on presentation I can pull on aspects of my 14 years continuous training and experience to enable positive change.

Example therapies are fascial, lymphatic, soft tissue, remedial and clinical therapies. I may use props such as hot stones, cups, infrared lamps, acupuncture, mobilisations, ultrasound and electro muscle stimulation if appropriate.

Signature Bodywork

Bodywork is a therapy where I can pull on all of my tools including hot stones, cups, ultrasound, dry needling & joint mobilisations. I use aromatherapy oils within every session and I can adapt between Remedial / soft tissue, sports, clinical, deep tissue, lymphatic bodywork, energy healing, Bowen, reflexology and kinesiology often applying a mixture.

This allows us to work together to chose a mixture of tools that are best suited to your needs on that day. Making each session varied, creative and what you need according to your current emotional, psychological and physical needs.

I work with soft tissue injuries, health conditions, emotional fatigue and trauma as well as post surgery work, scar tissue release, maintenance and realignment.

Reflexology (hot Stones)

This soothing and relaxing treatment works by stimulating reflex points on the feet to encourage healing and whole-body equilibrium.

Reflexology has been known to help with a variety of conditions including fertility issues, menopause, PMT, stress and anxiety, IBS, and reducing side effects of cancer treatment as well as many other conditions.

It helps the body to restore its natural state (homeostasis). As your therapist, I will use a combination of acupressure points and massage techniques on areas specific areas on your feet, relevant to your individual needs. Usually, after a treatment, you will feel more relaxed and have a positive sense of wellbeing and improved mood.

my training and passions are specialist exercise for people experiencing health conditions, disabilities and injuries, those new to exercise who need one to one emotional support to work through barriers and inner conflict to find the joy of movement, re-gain strength, mobility and health for functional daily activities.

We can work inside, outside, in a gym or water based. we will spend time looking at your current lifestyle, responsibilities / and commitments and work together to find space for you to take a plan to implement yourself at home between sessions.
